Having been asked by a client who wasn’t based in this country, to clear a Birmingham property on their behalf, was a new one for us. Normally we would deal with people who live in other parts of the country, but with the client being abroad, we treated it exactly the same as any other house clearance.
This house had been a family home for a number of years. The person who lived there had moved into a care home, meaning the house had to be sold to pay for the care bills. The new buyer didn’t want the contents, so we were called in to provide a house clearance service, and get the house ready for the new buyers to take ownership. The family member handling the sale is based abroad, and that’s where the difference from any other clearance that we have done comes from.
The items removed were typical household items, together with a stair-lift. Stair-lift removal isn’t a normal service that we would provide, unless asked specifically to do so. Over 90% of items removed were reused or recycled.
